"Think of the last thing you prayed about - were you devoted to your desire or to God? Was your determination to get some gift of the Spirit for yourself or to get to God? "For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him" ( Matthew 6:8 ). The reason for asking is so you may get to know God better. "Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart" ( Psalm 37:4 ). We should keep praying to get a perfect understanding of God Himself." My Utmost For His Highest
Father God, I don't know what Your will is for the job search we are currently undertaking. I don't know if we are to stay or to go, to be in Indy or the Louisville area, to be in a big church or a smaller one, to get very involved in church ministries or to be very involved in family ministries. I don't know what You have in store for us, but I KNOW it's good! I am learning to depend on You, to find joy in the waiting. Can You put a word of praise in my mouth as I continue to pass on the news to friends? I do not want to be bitter, I want every aspect of this situation to glorify Your Name. I know You can do miracles - show us a good one so we can jump up and down, cheer with our praying friends, sing and shout HALLELUJAH JESUS, LORD ALMIGHTY GOD! I feel the same sweetness thinking about You as I do thinking about seeing a dearly loved believer exercise her gifts in the Body of Christ. What a friend we have in You, Jesus! I can turn to You and say, "now just look at that girl go!" and smile knowingly, because we see she's full of Your Spirit and being blessed to the core. I am so blessed by You. More of You, Lord. More of You.
