“We have to develop godly habits to express what God’s grace has done in us. It is not just a question of being saved from hell, but of being saved so that "the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body." And it is adversity that makes us exhibit His life in our mortal flesh. Is my life exhibiting the essence of the sweetness of the Son of God, or just the basic irritation of "myself" that I would have apart from Him? The only thing that will enable me to enjoy adversity is the acute sense of eagerness of allowing the life of the Son of God to evidence itself in me. No matter how difficult something may be, I must say, "Lord, I am delighted to obey You in this." Instantly, the Son of God will move to the forefront of my life, and will manifest in my body that which glorifies Him.

You must not debate. The moment you obey the light of God, His Son shines through you in that very adversity; but if you debate with God, you grieve His Spirit (see Ephesians 4:30 ). You must keep yourself in the proper condition to allow the life of the Son of God to be manifested in you, and you cannot keep yourself fit if you give way to self-pity. Our circumstances are the means God uses to exhibit just how wonderfully perfect and extraordinarily pure His Son is. Discovering a new way of manifesting the Son of God should make our heart beat with renewed excitement. It is one thing to choose adversity, and quite another to enter into adversity through the orchestrating of our circumstances by God’s sovereignty. And if God puts you into adversity, He is adequately sufficient to "supply all your need" (Philippians 4:19 ).

Keep your soul properly conditioned to manifest the life of the Son of God. Never live on your memories of past experiences, but let the Word of God always be living and active in you.” My Utmost For His Highest

Amen, Lord. The decision to buy this house is a big one. Living in a small hotel room, M starting his new job, being sick, fussy kids, new area to get used to, selling our old house, moving eventually… These are all big stressors! Adversity is not just at our door, it is upon us! But You are good, oh God. You sustain us. You give us plenty to be excited about! We’re getting glimpses of what you have ahead – both trials and joys. Or should I say joys – both in trials and blessings. Because all is counted joy when we found ourselves upon Your foundation. And here we are – the house’s foundation already established, the framework up, the electricity wired. Exactly the same state of affairs as me. Now, Lord, You are putting up the rooms, the appliances and fixtures, the cabinets and then painting and landscaping. We even get to help You choose! So, if I could choose, within Your preferred options, what would I do? There seem to be SO MANY options! I’m almost overwhelmed. But then I know You wouldn’t do that to me. Of all that I see, I believe You care enough to help me pick the best! I believe You truly do have something in mind. What is it, God? I’m like a kid in a candy store, waiting for her mother to pick out the candy she will receive! In everything from paint colors to ministries, I want Your best for me! I want every part of my life and every part of the house You appoint for us to be brought about by Your perfect will. What’s YOUR favorite color, Lord? It’s probably noting like the pitifully limited selection we can see with our earthly eyes. So instead, what colors did You have in mind for us? What church? What bible study? What neighborhood roles? When we move in, what projects should we tackle first? I trust that You will guide us through Your Word, Your Spirit, and Your Wisdom. Thank You Holy Spirit, for revealing the Father to us. It’s amazing that someone as perfect as You could live inside someone as imperfect as me. But You’re there and I am SOOO grateful! Please give my husband the same recognition and thankfulness today as he acclimates himself to his new workplace. Give him strength, peace, and light. Help him discern the best for us this evening as we meet to discuss the offer with our realtor. Bless Jane, Bless the builder rep, Bless the process. Bless our children with extraordinary patience and obedience! Be our Daily Bread. A sweet taste in my mouth. I love You Jesus!
