"...Millions could testify that if you live to do whatever your sex drive tells you to do, you’ll be disappointed, damaged, and full of regret. The truth is that promiscuity harms us both emotionally and physically. As Paul goes on to say in 1 Corinthians 6, the one “who sins sexually sins against his own body.” In essence, you’re hurting yourself. People who lead promiscuous lives suffer from desensitized emotions, loss of self-worth, regret, disease, and unplanned pregnancy. I think we all agree that this stuff is a high price to pay for a few moments of pleasure here and there.
Ready for some good news? You don’t have to stay in bondage to sexual sin. Paul reminds us, “you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (v.11). The truth is that we are loved truly and exclusively when we strike up a relationship with Jesus. When we live in His love we will never ask, “Was it good for us?”" Strength for the Journey
I'm so thankful You washed me clean of my sexual sin in the past. It was not free of natural consequences, and Michael and I have had to do quite a bit of work in this area (in tandem with the healing power of Christ) to get our relationship where it might've been had neither of us sinned in the first place. But, Father, You are faithful. And You are able to fill me and make me whole like nothing else ever could. No marriage, friendship, food, possession, child, or work is ever enough. I'm so sorry I ever tried to find wholeness through other means, and sometimes continue to try to fill in my days with those things rather than let You fill me. Fill me now so that I might make good decisions with my time and resources and so bring You glory. May no glory fall upon me. You alone are worthy. Bless my family today. My sweet son, precious daughter, and brave husband. Work in the hearts of my mom and dad - prompt them to start searching for answers and looking for You. I know that if they really seek, they will find! Comfort my sister with Your comfort as she moves through her day heavy with child. Bless her future husband with strength, patience, love, and wisdom. May they together commit their lives and hearts to You first and foremost. Your Power + My "Yes" = VICTORY. May You be victorious in my life today!
