"Having God's Word ready on the tip of our tongues is like having a loaded shotgun on our walks to and through our Promised Lands. As long as we're armed, we can walk leisurely and peacefully because at a moment's threat, we are loaded and ready to shoot the head off that "ancient serpent called the devil" (Rev. 12:9). Think of the head representing authority. A stronghold is any way the devil tries to presume authority in our lives. If we belong to Christ, Satan has no right to exercise authority over us, but he hopes we're too ignorant regarding Scripture to know it. In the wilderness of temptation, Christ set an example of responding with the Word of God when under satanic assault. Knowing and claiming God's Word when attacked blows the head off enemy forces.
My God, Your words possess omnipotent achieving and accomplishing power. Thank You for allowing me to have them on the tip of my tongue. Please sanctify my mouth with Your holy Scriptures and empower me to overcome my enemy. In Jesus' name, Amen. " Beth Moore
OK, OK, Lord! I got it! You are not letting this one go! :) Praise Your Name You're not! It's too important for me to ignore. I do love Your law, and the more I know it, the more I love it. Hiding it in my heart is one of the most crucial pieces of my victorious walk. You've already shown me that memorizing scripture is simple and easy through my efforts to train Edward to memorize his Awana verses. Heck - I've memorized them almost as well as he has! Where are MY patches?!? lol I don't think it's entirely dumb to go ahead and set some goals for myself and a reward system - even if it's only the satisfaction of seeing a chart filled with sparkly smiley face stickers! What do You think, Lord? Do I need to purchase that system, or just follow the online outline? I have a feeling I could use all the help I can get, and I'm sure it comes with a guide to successful memorization. That system has been on my To Buy list, recommended by the Pecks, for several years now! So I trust that You are paving the way for all that to happen and that Your Spirit will enable and empower me to obey.Thank You for never letting me go. For leading me to the next step and the next one as I learn to follow You. Thank You for forgiving me as many times as I fail. Thank You for this book that I took off the shelf when I couldn't find my other books. It has been a tremendously timely one for me (of course You already knew that!).
Jesus Christ, I think upon Your sacrifice
You became nothing, poured out to death
Many times I've wondered at Your gift of life
And I'm in that place once again
I'm in that place once again
And once again I look upon the cross where You died
I'm humbled by Your mercy and I'm broken inside
Once again I thank You
Once again I pour out my life
Now You are exalted to the highest place
King of the heavens, where one day I'll bow
But for now, I marvel at Your saving grace
And I'm full of praise once again
I'm full of praise once again
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross
Thank You for the cross, my Friend
