"True intercession involves bringing the person, or the circumstance that seems to be crashing in on you, before God, until you are changed by His attitude toward that person or circumstance. Intercession means to "fill up . . . [with] what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ" (Colossians 1:24), and this is precisely why there are so few intercessors. People describe intercession by saying, "It is putting yourself in someone else’s place." That is not true! Intercession is putting yourself in God’s place; it is having His mind and His perspective.

As an intercessor, be careful not to seek too much information from God regarding the situation you are praying about, because you may be overwhelmed. If you know too much, more than God has ordained for you to know, you can’t pray; the circumstances of the people become so overpowering that you are no longer able to get to the underlying truth.

...What we must avoid in intercession is praying for someone to be simply "patched up." We must pray that person completely through into contact with the very life of God." My Utmost For His Highest

God You're great, God You're good. I so thank You for my food (Your Word). Thank You God, for loving me. Thank You for my family. Help me to learn more each day - to be kind at work and play. Amen.

I pray Your redeeming work on my neighbors. They are broken people in need of Your healing touch. I pray for my sister, her fiance, and their baby soon to be born. They need Your strong and tender touch. I pray for my parents who each in their own way are rebelling against You. They need to be humbled in the face of True Love. I pray for my husband, the second best (next to You of course!) love of my life. He is so exhausted but such a wonderful leader and provider. I pray for my children - each so unique with their own weaknesses and strengths. They need to know without a doubt that You are their best parent. I pray for Brian with so many hopes and dreams on his horizon. I pray for my in-laws nearing their trip to Florida. Keep them safe and guide their paths. Thank You for forgiving me. The moment I truly feel forgiven it seems my flesh wants to puff with pride. Save me from this body of death! All praises to Your Name. You are the ONLY One who could accomplish this!
