"God has something for each of us to do, despite our limitations. Rise up and ask what He might want to do through you. Julie Ackerman Link

When God asks you to lay aside
Some cherished work you loved to do,
Accept His choice of someone else
And let Him give new work to you. —Fasick" Our Daily Bread

What is my new work, Lord? You have taken me out of leadership for a time. Are you developing another gift? Seems like You've been doing hospitality in me lately, which is awesome and definitely NOT my natural gift...

I have lots and lots of things running through my brain. The 4 hour spiritual conversation with my parents this weekend. The way my hubby is handling it. The frustration at a lady in church who was speaking down to us during class. The upcoming meeting with one of our pastors about leadership training. What's for dinner tonight. How I'm going to get laundry and cleaning caught up this week. When I'm going to fit in sitting with a church friend, going to the library, getting groceries, staining the rest of the deck, getting Michael prepared for his whitewater rafting trip. How I'm going to get through the weekend without him and with both children. Who to invite for dinner this week. What to have to feed my hungry belly.

But I'm so glad You are in control, and You have shown us just how cool You are in the little things during our hugely successful (and CHEAP!) shopping trip last night! Did you lay all those things aside just for us?!? You old softie! lol And what about that conversation?!? That was awesome! I was so encouraged by the things that were said, the walls that seemed to begin to dissipate, the bonding, the prayers, the fact that they seemed less confidant but I felt totally reassured. I was so encouraged that You reminded me that whatever training You're doing with me right now, and whatever discipline You ask me to pick up - it's not primarily for ME and not primarily for my relationship with You, but it's primarily to be able to be used in more effective ways for Your greater glory in other's lives! Yes, I agree that I need to let You teach me to memorize scripture. Not for me, but so that You can speak it through me to my parents. TOTALLY changes my motivation and attitude about it. Thank You so much for that!

Lord, help me let go of the need to control. The people around me, my children, my plans, etc. Help me to see them as better than me. Help me to know what to do with each circumstance so that I might rest in the center of Your will knowing that I am acting and speaking with Your blessing. I want to forgive her. Please forgive me.

I love you, Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship you
Oh my soul, rejoice
Take joy, my King
In what you hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
In your ear

We love you, Lord
and we lift our hearts
to honor you
Oh my soul, rejoice
Take joy, our King
in what you see
Let it be a pleasing sight
in your eyes
